Why were we approached?
We have collaborated with Robert Patch Furniture makers for 12 years. They are a top quality cabinet/furniture maker based in Rye, East Sussex. Their client wanted to create an outdoor kitchen island using material that would be practical for outdoor use, yet completely natural, to be in symbiosis with nature and the beauty of their garden.
Robert Patch cleverly made this furniture to include panels that opened, with plenty of storage inside.
What did they choose?
The client chose 30mm Bianco Antico Sensa Granite. As it has been formed by nature this material offers a unique design in its textures, colours and veining. Sensa Granite comes in 17 beautiful colours, from a textured Moak Black to a soft White Macaubas.
It has a special protective treatment to protect it from staining and it's easy to clean and maintain. This treatment is also certified safe for contact with food.
What made this project special?
This worktop needed to be large with no joins and to include cut outs. Due to the sheer scale of the stone and with the location some distance from the driveway, we needed transport this carefully with a wheeled trolley to take this large and heavy piece to its location.
The client was delighted with their new kitchen island!
